Description
Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson. It revolves around 16-year-old Sarah’s (Jennifer Connelly) quest to reach the center of an enormous magic maze to rescue her little half-brother Toby, whom Sarah accidentally wished away to Jareth, the Goblin King (David Bowie).
Labyrinth took five months to film, and was a complicated shoot due to the various puppets and animatronic creatures involved. Director Jim Henson stated that his Creature Shop took a year and half to build all the puppets and characters required for shooting.
The film, which had a budget of $ 25 million, was a box office disappointment in its theatrical debut, but over the years it has been re-evaluated by critics and gained a large cult following.
